ISolar and Green Leaf Distribution are pleased to announce an agreement with Georgian College to study temperature differences between residential attic spaces with and without the Solar Powered Roof Vent. The agreement provides students the opportunity to develop research programs that will study the various applications of the Solar Powered Roof Vent and the associated benefits.
International Solar Solutions Inc. (“ISolar”) and Green Leaf Distribution Inc. are two wholly owned Canadian Companies that manufacture and distribute (respectively) Canadian made Solar Attic Vents throughout North America. The Solar Vents provide several benefits to home owners including reduction in electricity consumption, increased life span of asphalt shingles, and a substantial increase in attic air flow reducing mold growth.
Initial technical studies will be performed at the Barrie, Ontario campus to the extent possible. Phase two of testing will incorporate test homes in and around the south Georgian Bay area including Collingwood, Wasaga Beach and Alliston. The focus will be on the collection of real world temperature and moisture reduction data. Along with sustainable energy and environmental students, phase three of testing will also include the Building and Design Departments for the construction of isolar scale testing facilities. The study project will be partially funded by a grant from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (“NSERC”) of Canada. In addition to the grant, Isolar and Green Leaf are pleased to provide incremental project funding, as needed, to assist Georgian in aspiring to the highest possible standards of scientific research and innovation.
The information will be used to encourage consumer and government participation in this sustainable energy reduction initiative.
